Location and Directions

DO NOT USE MAPQUEST DIRECTIONS as they are NOT accurate. The camp is very easy to get to by following the directions on this page.

The camp is on scenic Lookout Mountain in Northwest Georgia-30 miles South of Chattanooga, TN and 120   miles North of Atlanta, GA. Travel time from Birmingham, Atlanta, Nashville, and Knoxville is approximately 2 to 2 1/2 hours.

From Atlanta: go north on I-75 to Exit #306 (Adairsville, GA). Turn left on GA 140 West. Drive west on 140 to US 27 North (approx 15 miles). Turn right and follow US 27 to Summerville (approx 15 miles). In Summerville, turn left on GA 48 and go through Menlo to the top of Lookout Mountain (approx 15 miles) which is also called Cloudland, GA (watch for blinker light at top of the mountain). Turn right at blinker light on Hwy 157 and go approximately 15 miles to Yankee Road. Turn left on Yankee Road and go about one-and-one-half ( 1.5) miles. The camp turn-in is marked with signs on the left. 

From Chattanooga and Knoxville: Go to Rock City and go South on Lula Lake Road which become GA 157. The camp is off of 157 about 8 miles south of the intersection of GA 157 and GA 136.  By interstate take I-59 south from Chattanooga, exit at Trenton, GA (exit 11, GA Hwy 136) and take GA 136 East to GA 157. Turn right (heading South) on GA 157 and go about 8 miles to Yankee Road. Turn right on Yankee Rd and go 1.5 miles, the camp turn-in is marked with signs on the left.  (from Knoxville you may also go all the way THROUGH Chattanooga on Interstate I-24 approx 8-10 miles past city to Interstate I-59 South to Trenton, GA (see directions listed below from Nashville)).

From Birmingham: go north in I-59. Exit at the Valley Head/Hammondville, AL exit and turn right on 117 (?not sure of hwy number but turn right, go 0.5 to 1.0 miles and turn right again for 100-200 yards then LEFT at sign to Valley Head/Mentone, AL) follow signs to Mentone, AL at top of Lookout Mountain. Turn left immediately after passing Skyline camp for girls and go 4-5 miles (road becomes named Flarity Rd.) to dead end at Ga Hwy 157. Turn left (North) on Ga Hwy 157, go 4-5 miles and turn left on Yankee Road.  Camp sign is one-and-one-half miles up Yankee Rd. on left.

From Nashville:    Go East on I-24 towards Chattanooga. Before reaching Chattanooga, you will see interstate I-59 South (near the Georgia line). Take I-59 South to the second exit,  Trenton, GA (exit 11, Hwy 136), Turn left at top of ramp and go to the dead end (3-4 blocks) turn right and go 1 block to HWY 136. Turn left on 136 EAST and Follow 136 to top of mountain (approx 8-11 miles) and turn right (South) on HWY 157. Go approx 8 miles to Yankee road. Turn right on Yankee road and follow signs to camp.
