A message to parents:

After many years of planning, our dream to build a summer camp for children became a reality in 1981. Our goal for Camp Woodmont has always been to offer more than a superior camp with outstanding facilities and staff. We want campers to have the opportunity to build character, develop relationships, and acquire childhood memories that will last a lifetime. With carefully chosen, dedicated staff, and counselors, we've provided thousands of campers (including our own grandchildren) with fun and exciting camping adventures and character building experiences.

IN MEMORIAL OF MR. B:  Many of you are already aware that Mr. B passed away this past July, 2006 after a long battle with stomach cancer. Mr B loved life and loved his family and working with children, staff and other youth at camp. While we all were very sad to see him go, we are also thankful as well for knowing him as a wonderful father, grandfather, teacher, camp director and one who loved life and lived it with passion and to the fullest.  Follow this link to the internet memorial web page for Mr. B.

MEET CAMP DIRECTOR: ALYSON GONDEK

Alyson Gondek is the B’s daughter.  Her love for camp and the outdoors started at age 6 when she went to her first overnight camp.  She was one of Camp Woodmont ’s first counselors in the early 1980s.  After she graduated from Georgia Southern College with a degree in public relations, Alyson worked for a public relations agency, and then spent seven years in marketing at two of Atlanta ’s most prestigious hospitals: Northside Hospital and Egleston Children’s Hospital.  She opened her own public relations firm, Progressive Marketing, in 1999.  Being a camp counselor made such a huge impact in her life that Alyson took off from her business in 2003 to return full-time at Camp Woodmont .  “As a child, I recall summer camp as the most positive and memorable experience of my childhood.  I want to give back to the children of today what I gained as a camper many years ago,” she says.  Alyson is a certified belayer for the climbing tower, and is also certified in CPR, first aid and as a Lifeguard.  She is also a CHA (Certified Horsemanship Association) certified horseback instructor, USA Archery Instructor and certified Water Fitness Instructor.

She is thrilled to be back in the camp business again!  Alyson lives in Cleveland , TN with her husband, Mike, and two children, Chelsea, 15 and Savannah ,10.  She enjoys swimming, walking, biking, and dance.
