MISSION STATEMENT AND CAMP PHILOSOPHY

Camp Woodmont exists to fulfill the calling to serve children, parents, and families by providing a place where children develop socially, mentally, physically and spiritually.

Much of the growth and development children experience at camp comes through the experience of living together in a camp setting; many benefits campers get from camp do not necessarily involve learning skills associated with specific camp activities, but instead develop through participation in the overall summer camp program. At camp, children acquire many subjective types of interpersonal and coping skills as a result of learning to live and work together in a unique and independent atmosphere.

MISSION STATEMENT: GOALS AND OBJECTIVES

The overall mission, goals, and objectives of Camp Woodmont are to:

........inspire campers to develop a more positive self-image and increase their social skills and their sense of independence while at the same time recognizing the beauty and significance of others and the value of friendships.

........provide opportunities for campers of all ages to observe and develop leadership skills.

........instill in each camper an increased awareness and appreciation of the beauties of nature and a desire to work in harmony with natural surroundings and help preserve the environment.

........encourage campers to recognize and develop their skills and abilities to the highest level.

........make possible many opportunities for all campers to grow and develop socially, emotionally, physically, mentally, and spiritually.
